Maria Joseph Continuing Care Community is a non-profit organization. Charitable giving to our ministry and mission is a way for you to achieve financial benefits while also impacting others. Our growth over the
years and our ministry of compassionate care continues because of the generosity of donors such as yourself. Because of our 501(c)(3) non-profit organization status, contributions are tax deductible to the extent permitted
by law.
Your generous support is appreciated by the Sisters, Staff, and residents of Maria Joseph Continuing Care Community
Ways to Give
The most common form of charitable giving is a gift of cash or other assets such as stocks, bonds, or securities. When you make a contribution directly to Maria Joseph, we can use the funds immediately to address our most urgent needs or plan for future enhancements to our services. In return, you may qualify for an income tax deduction that can reduce your overall tax burden.
Special Gifts
Donations can be designated for specific items or projects as recommended by our administration.
Golf Tournament
Maria Joseph Manor hosts a Golf Tournament each September. We invite you to participate as a golfer, sponsor, or volunteer. For more information, please contact Nichole Williams at (570) 271-1000 Ext. 1708.
Year-End Giving
Required Minimum Distribution
Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) from an IRA or Roth IRA allow taxpayers aged 70½ or older to make donations directly to public charities without counting them as part of their adjusted gross income. Maria Joseph CCC would
be honored to receive such distributions. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, your contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Other Giving Opportunities
- Endowments
An endowed gift may establish a new endowment or contribute to an existing one. The principal is invested, and a portion of the earnings is used annually to support projects, mission work, facility improvements, or benevolent care. - Real Estate
A gift of real estate can make a meaningful impact. Each property is reviewed individually to ensure suitability and to determine the best outcome for both donor and recipient. - Life Insurance
You can name Maria Joseph Continuing Care Community as the beneficiary of a new or existing life insurance policy and receive applicable tax benefits. - Memorial and Honorary Gifts
Contributions made in memory or in honor of a loved one help continue the mission of Maria Joseph: to provide compassionate, professional care in a warm, home-like environment. Our residents are family and are never asked to leave due to an inability to pay—your generosity makes this possible.
Continued Giving
- Bequests
For those who prefer to give after their lifetime, bequests are fully exempt from federal estate tax. Common forms include: - Outright bequests
- Bequests of life insurance
- Bequests of retirement plan assets
- Will Bequests
You may choose to leave a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, personal property, or the remainder of your estate to Maria Joseph CCC. We will honor your legacy by continuing our mission and ministry. - Trusts
A charitable trust can be tailored to fit your individual circumstances and may offer the benefit of income for life. - Securities
Gifts of long-term appreciated securities offer the same impact as cash donations while providing additional tax advantages.
