Maria Joseph Continuing Care Community has been a trusted name in compassionate care since 1962. Located in Danville, Pennsylvania, our community was founded by the Sisters of Saints Cyril and Methodius, who opened Maria Joseph Manor on March 19, 1962—on the Feast of Saint Joseph—as a reflection of their deep commitment to caring for the elderly with dignity and love. What began as a 100-bed facility has since grown into a vibrant, full-service campus providing a range of senior care options.
Our mission guides everything we do:
“Rooted in the Judeo-Christian Tradition of hospitality, service, and dedicated to a mission of love and respect for each individual, the Sisters of Saints Cyril and Methodius along with the staff of Maria Joseph Continuing Care Community offer a welcoming and secure environment where the lives of senior adults and their families are enhanced with compassionate and professional care.”
These guiding values—Hospitality, Service, Love, Respect, and Compassionate Care—are at the heart of our work and culture. They inspire how we serve our residents, support their families, and treat one another every day.
Maria Joseph Continuing Care Community is more than just a residence for senior adults—it is a place of belonging and comfort. Early in its history, our Manor quickly gained a reputation as “The Home With a Heart.” Families from Pennsylvania and beyond sought to place their loved ones in our care, drawn by the warmth and quality of our services. As demand grew, the Sisters responded with expansion and innovation, developing new facilities to meet the evolving needs of the aging population.
Today, our campus includes:
- The Meadows – A peaceful neighborhood of 100 independent living cottages and 12 townhomes, designed for seniors who want to maintain independence with access to supportive services.
- Maria Joseph Manor – A personal care facility providing individualized attention to those who need help with daily living.
- Emmanuel Center – A 90-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center offering short-term recovery and long-term nursing care.
- Nazareth Memory Center – A 24-bed personal care residence tailored to individuals coping with dementia, providing a safe and nurturing environment.
We proudly serve the Danville area as a faith-based, nonprofit continuing care community sponsored by the Sisters of Saints Cyril and Methodius. Our team provides round-the-clock care and support, offering services in Personal Home Care, Memory Care, Short-Term Rehab , and comprehensive Continuing Care options.
With over 60 years of experience, a dedicated team of professionals, and a foundation rooted in faith and compassion, Maria Joseph Continuing Care Community remains committed to enhancing the lives of those we serve—today, tomorrow, and for generations to come.
